June 17th and 18th performers from J&J Performing Arts in Susanville will present a retelling of the classic Wizard of Oz story featuring 160 dancers in a highly entertaining dance extravaganza at the Lassen College Gymnasium.
The story of Dorothy, a tornado and a witch will ignite the imagination and take you back as dancers from 18-months old to well-in-their maturity will dance to numerous songs and dance styles, jazz, hip hop, tumbling, acro dance, ballet, modern and contemporary.
Each dancer represents a character and the storyline is woven thru some amazingly talented dancers. They have been working 7 months on the production and are set to entertain audiences of all ages.
Incredibly talented guest artist Emily Bernard will be singing, ‘Warrior’ by Demi Lovato while the entire modern program dances their hearts out.
Three gifted seniors; Makinzie Wheeler, Courtney Beckman and Angel Hammon are soloists in the show. Everyone from the tinman to toto will be there and you don’t want to miss it!
Tickets are $8 a person and all proceeds go directly into J&J’s scholarship and not-for-profit show fund.
