Honey Lake TV Completes Analog to Digital Conversion

hltvconversionThe Honey Lake Community Television Corporation has announced the completion of their conversion from analog to digital TV. The move allows Honey Lake TV to bring high quality over-the-air digital television programming to homes throughout the valley at an incredible price tag – only $25 per year.

HLTV is a non-profit corporation that has been connecting families in the area since 1956. Recently the group made a substantial investment in new equipment, leading to significant improvements to the television signals received from Reno and Sacramento areas. HLTV now holds ten licenses from the Federal Communication Commission.

The viewer-supported system depends on the yearly fee for the operation and maintenance of television equipment, towers and tower sites for two mountain top locations.

During severe weather, natural disasters or national security events, cable and satellite services may not be available or reliable but HLTV is maintaining redundancy by purchasing and installing backup power generators and other equipment that will provide the most stable signal available.

HLTV relies on viewers for funding this low cost television service. Your annual $25 payment works to help deliver local and national entertainment to communities which include Milford, Doyle, Herlong, Standish, Litchfield, Janesville, Lake Forest and Susanville.

For information on receiving the HLTV channels visit their website at www.honeylaketv.com.

For information on paying the annual $25 fee, contact the Lassen County Treasurer’s Office at 251-8221 or the Lassen County Assessor’s Office at 251 -8241.
