Honey Lake RCD Seeking to Fill Two Board Vacancies

The Resource Conservation District of Honey Lake Valley is seeking to fill one expired term vacancy and one unscheduled vacancy on its Board of Directors according to District Manager Ian Sims.

The Honey Lake Valley RCD has been serving Lassen County since 1954. The district was established by the Lassen County Board of Supervisors through Resolution #394 in accordance with the provisions of Division 9 for the PRC.

“Serving as a board member is very fulfilling,” said Sims in the board vacancy announcement.Ā “The board is a testament to that, as board members have each committed a mission to conserve, restore, and sustain local agricultural and natural resources for those who live, work, or visit Lassen County.”

“The RCD Board fosters a viable economy by seeking and coordinating technical, educational, and financial resources.”

The four board members now serving are Jesse Claypool, cattle rancher; Laurie Tippin, retired Forest Service; Wayne Langston, cattle rancher and Larry Cabodi, retired Forest Service.

Directors are appointed by the Lassen County Board of Supervisors, but the district is assisting in the search for new board members.

Qualified candidates must be a registered voter in the state, reside within the district and either own real property or be a designated agent of a landowner in the district. The board meets at 3:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month for 1 to 2 hours.

If interested in this exciting opportunity please contact Sims, at (775) 313-1222 or [email protected] for more information.
