It’s homecoming week at Lassen High School and the school’s Associated Student Body is inviting everyone to join them for a fun-filled tribute to the strange world of Presidential elections and Purple and Gold spirit!
Throughout the week the ASB is sponsoring a variety of activities like a pep rally, class floats and spirit days.
Floats are being constructed and displayed by freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes and the most popular float will earn ‘spirit points’ for their class.
The theme this year is presidential: the freshman float centers around George Washington, the sophomore float will represent Ronald Reagan and the junior class float will be centered around John F. Kennedy.
The senior float puts current events into perspective – focusing on 2016 presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Spirit Days this week include ‘Merica Monday, Slogan Tuesday, Secret Service/Dress for Success Wednesday, Redneck or Hippie Thursday and, or course, Purple and Gold Friday.
Powder Puff Football
The big annual Powder Puff game will be held Wednesday night at Arnold Field. The event is a lot of fun as LHS girl’s put on football gear and take the field, playing football for class pride. Check out the Lassen guys as they head to the sidelines for cheerleading fun.
There will also be a home Field Hockey game on Wednesday afternoon and the community is encouraged to come out at 3:30 to support the girls as they vie for the coveted championship title.
There will also be a home volleyball game on Thursday, September 29th, at 4:30p.m.
At 2:00p.m. on Friday there will be a homecoming pep rally at Arnold Field and everyone is invited to come show your purple and gold pride. Football starts with the freshman game against the West Valley Eagles at 3:30. The Varsity game and the homecoming parade will start at 7:30.
