Forest Service Announces Change in Old Station Visitor Center Hours

forestserviceupdateStarting Saturday, September 12th, Lassen National Forest’s Old Station Visitor Information Center will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. During the summer, the Center was open Thursday through Sunday.

“Now that the summer season is winding down, we have fewer visitors,” said Hat Creek Recreation Technician Wendy Markham. “Most of the visitors we get this time of year are woodcutters who want to purchase wood permits.”

Located one-quarter mile north of the junction of Highways 44 and 89, Old Station Visitor Center is located along Hat Creek and offers excellent access for fishing, as well as an accessible picnic area and vault toilets.
