The Eagle Lake Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is initiating the Lassen Municipal Utility District Master Permit Reissuance Project and is scoping for public input.
The purpose of this proposed action is to issue a new Master Special Use Permit for the continued operation and maintenance of existing LMUD electric system facilities and infrastructure located in the Lassen National Forest.
Some of the existing Special Use Authorizations for these powerlines have expired. A new authorization will make needed updates to various terms and conditions that meet current land and resource management standards, facilitate more efficient electric system operations and maintenance activities with a standardized Operation and Maintenance Plan and reduce administrative burden by consolidating numerous Special Use Authorizations into a single Master Permit for continued use and occupancy of NFS lands.
The public is encouraged to submit input as it relates to the proposed action and identify any issues about the anticipated effects from this proposed action. The Forest Service is requesting that you respond in writing before May 11th, 2018 so your comments may be considered as we move through the NEPA process with this project.
