The 14th Annual Jr. Fishing Derby was held Saturday in Susanville. The event opens the waters of Susanville to kids a week before the streams open statewide. This year's derby brought kids from all over Northeastern California.

The Lassen County Office of Education sponsored it's annual Academic Olympics competition this week at Monsignor Moran hall. The event is comprised of day long "jeopardy" like contests where teams earn points by answering questions correctly.

Lassen High School students and various law enforcement agencies came together April 18th for the Every 15 Minutes Program. This emotionally charged program is an event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol.
