Dale Anthony Sheehy

Dale Anthony Sheehy left this earth on Sept. 19, 2017, to return home to our lord.

Dale was born on March 24, 1962, in Norco, CA where he became #11 of 12 children in the Sheehy family.

In 1975 Dale’s family moved from Socat to Clear Creek, CA where he began attending Westwood Jr./Sr. High. Because of his outgoing nature and his huge, infectious smile, Dale soon became a popular figure amongst his peers and teachers. While there, Dale excelled at sports, most notably football where he set many school records. During his years at Westwood, he formed many strong friendships that continued until his death.

After graduating, Dale joined the work force. His employment consisted of mainly working in the logging industry, the railroad, construction and for a period of time, the Calif. Dept. of Corrections.

lt was during these years that Dale became the proud father to his son, Zachary Sheehy, Daelynn Sheehy Nyman and step-father to Kristen Davis, Cierra Colpack and Jeremy Micone. Dale lived in Grants Pass, OR for many years until 2015 when he returned to, what he considered his hometown, Westwood, where he lived until his death.

In going home to Our Lord, Dale has joined in Heaven his parents, Donald Leroy and Dorothy Elizabeth Sheehy, his nephews Daniel Hutchinson and Luke Sheehy, his niece, Catherine Hutchinson and his brothers-in-law, A.J. Hutchinson, Christopher Palmquist and Daniel Carr. Also maternal grandparents, Jack and Flora Higelin, paternal grandparents Roy and Mary Sheehy, as well as 6 uncles, 4 aunts and several cousins. He also will be reunited with his beloved dog “D”.

At his passing Dale leaves behind, in sorrow, his son Zachary, his daughter Daelynn and son-in-law, Nick Nyman and his first grandchild, Baby Boy Nyman due in November, his step-daughters Kristen Githens Davis (Mike), Cierra Githens Colpack (Kyle) and step-son, Jeremy Micone ( Heather).

He also leaves his 11 siblings, Dawn Marie Davis (Mike), Diane Sheehy, Denise Palmquist (Dave), Daniel Sheehy, Debra Sheehy, David Sheehy (Jodi), Douglas Sheehy (Lynn), Dean Sheehy (Vicky), Doria Hupp (Tom), Devin Sheehy (Shannon) and Derek Sheehy.

16 nieces – Janalee, Tina, Julie, Amy, Erin, Lisa, Beth Louise, Chelsea, Kate, Meg, Kaylan, Lauren, Casey, Sydney, Cara with an honorable mention to Sedona and Ellie and Darcy.

8 nephews – Steven, Brett, Christopher, Bryan, Neil, Dean, Nathan and John.

Included also are his Aunt Luciene, 93 and his Uncle Bob, 89 along with numerous first cousins, great nieces and nephews and his many, many friends. Dale was an abundantly loved individual.

Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 with a mass at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 220 Clifford Dr., Lake Almanor followed immediately by Graveside services at Chester Cemetery with a celebration of life at Chester Memorial Hall, 225 Gay St., Chester, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dale’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or any animal charity of your choosing.
