California Assemblyman Brian Dahle honored district 2 Supervisor Jim Chapman on the floor of the state Assembly last Thursday, recognizing him for giving, “36 years of outstanding service to the Lassen County Board of Supervisors, which makes him the longest running Supervisor in California.”

“I have been honored to know Jim and have had the pleasure to work with him for 16 years as I served on the Board of Supervisors,” explained Dahle in a heartfelt statement after Thursday’s ceremony.

“At the age of 19, he was elected to the Susanville City Council as the youngest city council member in California. Jim has also served his community as a leader through Rural Counties, CSAC, LAFCO, Lassen Transportation Commission, Lassen County Chamber of Commerce and much more. He served as the chairman of the regional Special Olympics, worked on the development of the Bizz Johnson Recreation Trail and the Historic Isaac Roop Day events for local schools.”

“I commend the Honorable Jim Chapman upon the occasion of his retirement from Lassen County Board of Supervisors and for his high level of citizenship and dedicated service. He has forever enhanced the lives of the people of Lassen County. I am proud we have servant leaders like Jim representing our community, along with all other outstanding supervisors in the North State. Congratulations, Jim!”
