City Announces Departure of Jared Hancock as City Administrator

The City of Susanville, in an announcement released to local media late Friday morning, is confirming the departure of City Administrator Jared Hancock, who has served the city in that capacity for just over five years. The release states that Hancock will be leaving his full-time permanent employment with the City of Susanville effective October 11th, 2017.

The unattributed message from the city says, in part:

“We wish to thank his family for their sacrifice during these years as he worked long hours and attended countless meetings and events on behalf of the City. While we can’t say enough about his leadership, vision and work ethic we wish to thank him for the passion he has brought to the community and the wonderful transformation we have seen during his tenure.

“His work to make government more responsive and efficient allowed us to build a healthy reserve fund, utilize federal, state and local resources to improve the quality of life for our citizens, put millions of dollars into roadway improvements, build a new community swimming pool and many more state and locally funded projects.

“During the next few months he plans to complete a number of important projects as we continue our work to increase the safety and security of our neighborhoods and implement new ways to improve the look and feel of our community.

“We thank him for his willingness to facilitate a smooth and successful transition, his commitment to the community and we are excited to learn more about the exciting ventures he and his family have on the horizon.”

No announcement was made concerning Hancock’s replacement, or a time-frame for that announcement to be made.
