The California Highway Patrol has released details of an accident on State Route 44 that sent a McKinleyville, California man to the hospital with minor injuries last Thursday.
According to the CHP 32 year-old Kenny Seymore of Eureka was westbound on Highway 44 near Pittville Road with the cruise control of his 1997 Toyota 4Runner set at 65 mph. Snow was falling and a layer of slush covered the roadway.
The report says Seymore lost control of his vehicle as he completed the curve at Pittville Road. The vehicle slid off the south shoulder of Highway 44 and then overturned three to four times before coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Of the four occupants only one complained of injuries sustained in the rollover.
