CHP Incident: Three Washington Residents Injured in Janesville Rollover

Three Washing state residents were injured early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 395 near Janesville according to details released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol.

On October 5th, just before 5:00a.m., a 45-year old Auburn, Washington, resident identified by the CHP as Tony Jacobson, was driving a 2005 Toyota Matrix northbound on US-395 less than a mile south of Main Street Janesville.

For unknown reasons Jacobson made an unsafe turning movement causing him to lose control of his vehicle.

The Toyota left the east shoulder of the roadway before overturning and coming to rest, on its wheels, in a field.

Jacobson was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the car as it overturned, suffering significant head trauma.

Both of Jacobson’s passengers, a 36-year old woman and an unidentified juvenile, were wearing their seatbelts.

Jacobson was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno, via helicopter, for treatment.

Due to the significant intrusion to the passenger compartment, and the passenger’s complaint of pain to her head, she was also transported via helicopter.

The 17-year old juvenile passenger escaped with only minor injuries and was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center as a precaution.

The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
