CHP Incident: Susanville Resident Injured in Icy Richmond Road Collision

The California Highway Patrol has released details of a January 16th, vehicle collision on Richmond Road near Josie Way that sent a Susanville woman to Banner Lassen Medical Center with moderate injuries.

According to the CHP report, shortly before 8:00a.m., 18-year old Susanville resident Marley Trinidad was driving a 2001 Ford Excursion eastbound on Richmond
Road, east of Josie Way, at approximately 50mph.

At the same time Susanville resident Susan Cady was driving a 2014 Kia Sportage westbound on Richmond Road at slow rate of speed.

Trinidad lost control of the Ford on the icy roadway and crossed into the westbound lane, colliding with the Kia. Both vehicles slid onto the north shoulder of Richmond Road and came to rest.

Trinidad and her juvenile passenger were uninjured during the collision. Cady received moderate injuries and was transported to Banner Lassen Medical
Center.

The Susan River Fire Department, CCC Fire, SEMSA and the Lassen County Sheriff responded to the scene to assist.

CHP Public Information Officer Kristen Wilburn reminds drivers to use caution when driving on area roadways due to the winter weather driving conditions.
