CHP Incident: Livermore Woman Suffers Major Injuries in 395 Crash

Tuesday, October 10th, 2017

(As of October 12th California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Kristen Wilburn has corrected the original press release and explains that, “After further investigation, it was found Doni Washburn, was in fact, wearing her seatbelt.”)

A Livermore, California, woman received major injuries Sunday in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 395 just north of Hall Road.

On October 8th, according to details released by the Susanville Area CHP office, 45-year old Doni Marie Washburn was driving her 1995 Chevy 1500 southbound on US-395 when she allowed her passenger-side tires to drift off the right side of the roadway and onto the shoulder.

Washburn attempted to turn her vehicle to the left in an effort to return it to the roadway, over-correcting and losing control of her vehicle as it traveled back across both lanes of US-395.

After traveling onto the highway’s shoulder, the vehicle overturned.

Washburn was ejected from the pickup and sustained major injuries. She was transported via helicopter to Renown.

The California Highway Patrol reminds motorist to use caution while driving, and to buckle up.

It’s easy to judge when it isn’t you. Put yourself in her shoes, how would you feel reading these comments?

A little compassion can go a long way. I pray that she will recover.

The old Monteray highway in South San Jose was called “blood alley” and the 395 between Susanville and Reno is worse. Its 50/50 chance in many areas ~ CHP please put in for some changes
the traffic isn’t getting lighter …

So what about I hope she is OK? Wow have people today become so cold that all you read was she wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Can’t change that now just hope this woman is alive and healing!

Do you know her and that she uses or even had a phone while driving?? could it have just been windy or her staying away from an unsafe incoming driver? Do you know that her seat belt could have just failed? Just A little FYI she lived through it I’m glad you were concerned enough to comment. Death wish? Have A heart.
