Bruce Homme, owner of Homme’s Landscaping, will be offering a unique chance for participants to learn about building self-contained waterfalls while helping to construct a new art installation at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. The hands-on workshop is being held this Friday, July 10th, and the new waterfall and metal silhouette will debut at next week’s 2015 Lassen County Fair.

“The fairgrounds had a large metal silhouette donated by Harry Philipenko,” explains Homme. “I had approached Jim Wolcott, (Lassen County Fairgrounds Manager) and offered to donate a little landscaping. Jim put the two together and asked if I’d incorporate the silhouette with the design and he would supply the materials for the front entry.”

Homme said that the project grew with the size of silhouette from a single waterfall into two boulder falls and a single cascading fall that will pour into a babbling brook.

So get ready to get your hands dirty! All the tools will be provided. Wear your work boots and gloves. Lunch is included for registered participants. This is a great opportunity if you have been thinking of building your own water feature.

To register for this free event you can go to http://goo.gl/vTxKW9 or call (530) 258-3534. The project will take place at the Lassen County Fairgrounds main entry on Friday, July 10th from 9:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
