The Bureau of Land Management Eagle Lake Field Office, currently at 2950 Riverside Dr. in Susanville, will be moving in February to the Riverside Drive building that houses the Lassen National Forest headquarters.

The BLMā€™s last business day at the current address will be Friday, February 20th. The office will be open for business at the new location, 2550 Riverside Dr., Monday, February 23rd. Employee phone numbers and email addresses will not change. They are available in the online staff directory, www.blm.gov/ca/eaglelake.

Office hours will continue to be 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Officials said consolidating offices will improve customer service by providing a one-stop shop for products such as maps, permits and information about BLM-managed public lands and the Lassen National Forest.

ā€œSharing an office opens up new possibilities for improving the service our agencies provide to the public,ā€ said BLM Northern California District Manager Nancy Haug. ā€œIn the coming months we will explore opportunities under the federal ā€˜Service Firstā€™ initiative to cooperate on programs or management areas that we have in common. We have the chance to build on a well-established partnership, demonstrated in our joint management of the Bizz Johnson Trail and our cooperation on issues at Eagle Lake.ā€

About 30 BLM employees will be making the move and will be housed in one wing of the building. A single public entrance and reception area will serve both agencies.

An added benefit of the consolidation will be a more efficient use of office space, said BLM Eagle Lake Field Manager Ken Collum. Because of staff reductions over the years, the current BLM building is too large for existing staff. A similar situation existed for the Lassen National Forest and space was made available in the building to accommodate the BLM staff.
