Do you love to sing and dance? Come be a part of Lassen County’s largest annual theatrical production! The 2015 Susanville Best of Broadway concert series is gearing up for their March performances with two days of auditions scheduled for October 11th and 18th from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m.
Best of Broadway is looking for talented actors and actresses, soloists, chorus singers, costume designers, dancers, seamstresses and makeup artists.
For the more technically inclined the production offers jobs in lighting and sound design, scenery construction and rigging crews.
This year’s musical lineup includes songs from Grease, Annie Get Your Gun, Aladdin, Phantom of the Opera and more.

According to the Best of Broadway folks there are some things you need to know before you audition:
- It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to complete the audition process.
- Come to auditions prepared to sing one verse and chorus of the song of your choosing. Our choreographer will teach a short age appropriate dance routine for the dance portion of your audition.
- If there is a solo part that you want to try out for, come to your regular audition ready to perform that song. There are links on the home page to where you can purchase the version of the song we will be performing.
- All prospective cast members MUST audition for song and dance. We don’t expect you to be an accomplished dancer but we have to know you’re willing to try as every performer in the show does some type of choreographed movement.
- Auditions are open to anyone age 5 and up.
- Susanville Best of Broadway will perform 6 shows March 6 & 7 and 13 & 14
- Rehearsals begin January 5, 2015. All cast members will rehearse at least one night of the week 6 – 8pm and part of Saturday. Saturday rehearsals are mandatory and run no later than 4pm. Dress rehearsals are also mandatory.
- Cast members are asked to pay a $20 production fee with a family maximum of $50
- While Best of Broadway maintains an extensive costume collection available for loan whenever possible, it is likely that cast members will spend up to $70 purchasing their own costumes, shoes or accessories.
- In the interest of ensuring the safety of your children, parents/guardians will be required to sign kids under the age of 12 in and out of rehearsals.
