he 7th grade Triple Threat girls attended their last travel tournament of the season at the Cinco De Mayo tournament in Chico Ca. over the weekend. The girls played up in the 8th grade division and once again were very successful having three very competitive games. The girls went 1 and 2 in the tournament beating another 8th grade team! The 7th grade girls took a huge step this season playing up in the 8th grade division in their last two tournaments and definitely rose to the challenge. Coach Danny Mena said that they were looking to push the girls to the next level playing bigger older girls in Northern California. ” We knew that we had a special group of kids this year. We wanted to see what would happen if we made the girls play older teams. We knew that they would be competitive, but when they started beating 8th grade teams it confirmed how special these girls were.” The Triple Threat girls played seven 8th grade games this season and actually held a lead during all games accept for two. In the three 7th grade tournaments the girls attended this season they took gold in two. Coach Mena said ” The coaching staff and parents are very proud of what the girls accomplished this year and are very exited to see what happens next!” The team would like to thank the NorCal Heat, Shasta Magic, Chico Tarheels, Reno Jam on It, and Triple Threat organizations for providing a great opportunity for the kids to get out on the road and make these great memories with their teams and families! The team would also like to thank the Giacomelli family (Triple Threat) for working so hard for the kids. Congratulations Grace Memmott, Hailey Mena, Chelsea Williams, Caitlyn Crosby, Jewel Kerby, Hailee Ebert, Chloe Degraff, Megan Gower, and Taylor Greer for an outstanding season representing Lassen County and Triple Threat!
