artscouncilThe Lassen County Arts Council is seeking artists who enjoy sharing their talents for both the Summer Art Program and the newly launched Cork and Canvas Events and private parties program.

“Creativity and patience are both required to provide our guests with a memorable experience,” explains LCAC Board Member Roxanna Haynes.

For the Summer Art Program instructors are asked to create a two-hour workshop catered to children between the ages of 6 and 18. Applicants are encouraged to develop a program based on their skills in visual, literary or performing arts. Suggestions from the Arts Council include; pencil drawing, painting, journaling, comic illustration, drumming, collage, clay sculpture. LCAC provides a $50 material allowance and an artist stipend of $150 upon workshop completion.

The tentative schedule for the Summer Art Program includes 12 workshops between June 15th and July 29th. The Summer Art Program is limited to 15 children per workshop. Please visit our website or contact the Gallery for more information on submitting your workshop proposal.

We are also seeking artists to lead our Cork and Canvas Events and private parties. These events are centered on selected artwork for various abilities. Events have a minimum of 8 participants, a maximum of 15 and last approximately 2 ½ hours with the last half hour for artwork dry time and guest socializing. LCAC will pay $100 to artist instructors for the events.
