Annual Ceremony Marks 13th Anniversary of World Trade Center Tragedy

The annual ceremony, held at the fire hall on Main Street, is a somber and heartfelt remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001

The public is invited to join in a commemoration of the firefighters, paramedics, police officers and other innocent victims whose lives were ended by the tragic terrorist attack of September 11th, 2001.

The Susanville Fire Department is joining with remembrances being held all across the country on Thursday, September 11th. The observance will begin at 6:30a.m. on the lawn at the fire hall at 1505 Main Street.

At 7:00 the group will assemble in front of the flagpole, the Honor Guard from High Desert State Prison will present the colors and there will be a moment of silence and a prayer by Chaplain Ingle.

Of the 2,977 people killed in the September 11th attacks, 412 were emergency workers in New York City who responded to the World Trade Center.
