Susanville School Formally Opened
March 9th, 1926

The new Roosevelt grammar school on Richmond Road was formally opened in ceremonies held Friday night.

More than 300 persons heard the opening address given by Mrs. H.D. Burroughs, Mayor of Susanville. Mrs. Burroughs expressed the sentiment of the citizens in thanking the school trustees for their untiring efforts in getting the new $60,000 concrete school building ready for use.

A.B. Breitweiser of the Lassen Lumber and Box Company gave a talk comparing past years schools with present day methods.

A program was given by the first and second grade children and the city principal, Mrs. Wilson, gave a short talk.
