Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Update
Patti Hagata, Executive Director

If you are a Chamber member, be sure that the Chamber’s visitor lobby has an adequate supply of your business cards and brochures on hand to promote your business throughout the year.

This is a free marketing service that is available to all Chamber members.

Also, if you have made any changes to your business information, like new website address, email, new manager, or have relocated, please forward that information to us so that we can update our records.

The Chamber is excited to team up with Main Street Bowl for a Pre-Opening Celebration.

The facility has been completely redone inside and out; this event will give Chamber members the first opportunity to see the bowling center before it is officially open to the public. (The public opening will be held the end of March).

This special event is for Chamber Members only; a postcard will be sent out that will be your invitation to attend and will include the date and time of this event. We hope you will plan to join us for this celebration and help us welcome the newest business to the community!

Get a bowling team together to represent your business and bowl against other business teams! ($4 per game) Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served. Hope to see you there!

The Lassen County District Attorney reminds business owners that the DA’s Bad Check Program is available to help businesses who have received a bad check and need help with check restitution.

The program has a high recovery success rate; bad check writers can face immediate criminal prosecution once the collaborating bank records are received.

A copy of the Bad Check Report form can be pick-up at the Chamber office or the District Attorney’s office. Also available is important information on processing a bad check and procedures you can utilize to help avoid problems. For questions or more information regarding the DA’s bad check program contact Paula at the DA’s office 251-8358.

Just a reminder that we have relocated; the Chamber office is at 75 North Weatherlow Street, next to the Museum and Roop’s Fort. We can be reached at 257-4323 or email us at director@lassencountychamber.org.

“Lucky Land of Lassen” is Title of Advertising Booklet
March 4, 1923

The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce has just received 8000 new folders that depict the many attractions and advantages of Lassen County.

It is entitled “Lucky Land of Lassen” and bear a cover design showing the erupting volcano Mount Lassen in the distance with typical Lassen pastoral scenes in the foreground.

The folder describes the county's history and growth, transportation facilities, educational facilities, lumber industry, opportunities for recreation, climate and agricultural possibilities.

It contains an interesting article on Westwood, the lumbering town of 5000 people that is owned and operated by one company.

It contains a roadmap of the northeastern section of the state, compiled by the Westwood auto club, which is very complete and will be of great value to tourists visiting these mountains.

These folders will be distributed through California Inc., and the California Development Board.  Copies will be mailed gratis by the Lassen Chamber of Commerce upon request.
