With the recent series of storms bringing substantial snowfall to the upper elevations, Lassen College’s Coppervale Ski Hill is in full operation!
Only 18 miles from Susanville on Highway 36, Coppervale has enough groomed snow for some terrific downhill fun and features 8 spectacular trails, a terrain park, a half-pipe and over 700 feet of vertical drop.
Whether your forte is downhill, cross country or snowboarding, Coppervale has something just right for you and the family.

Coppervale will be in operation this Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 to 4:00. Sign up for classes at the Hill!
Full day lift tickets are $20 and half day tickets, starting after 12:30, are just $15.

New Industry In Susanville
February 20th, 1952
A new industry being promoted by the Susanville Chamber of Commerce is a plant which will manufacture a new type of building board, Secretary Ray Arjo said this week.
It is manufactured in sheets from wood waste which has been ground to particle size and held together by a special phenolic resin. It is bound together under heat and pressure, making a uniform quality panel.

The resulting hardboard can be used in the regular millwork field, and can be machined the same as plywood.
An imitation grain can be applied to the surface which makes it resemble natural wood panels when stained or blended.
A sample is on display at the Chamber office.
