This evening there will be a fundraiser to help the Gooseman family, who recently lost everything in a house fire on 395.

The spaghetti feed fund raiser will be from 5:00pm until 7:00 in the Janesville School multi-purpose room.

Suggested donation is $5 per person or $20 per family.

The Honey Lake Hospice will be having a quilt raffle!

The embroidered, appliquéd, handmade quilt is 72" x 90" and is being donated by Edith Schwirian to the Honey Lake Hospice as a fundraiser.

Schwirian’s quilt will be on display and tickets sold at the following locations;

Margie's Book Nook from now through the end of January.
US Bank from February 2-16.
Plumas Bank from February 17-27.
Bank of America from March 2-15.
After Bank of America the quilt will return to Margie's Book Nook until the winner is drawn at Honey Lake Hospice’s annual Tea at the end of March.

Raffle tickets are five dollars each or five for $20. For more information call the Honey Lake Hospice at 257-3137.

Friday night at 9:00pm Lassen College will present another in its series of ‘Movie Nights’ on campus in Middleton Hall.

This Friday’s feature is the movie ‘Miracle’, based on the inspiring true story of the 1980 United States hockey team, a team that transcended its sport and united a nation with a new feeling of hope.

Upcoming films in this season’s movie night schedule include; The Magnificent Seven, Apollo 13, Seabiscuit and The Great Escape.

Auto Supply Company has New Manager
January 22nd, 1946

Edmund L. Smith and his brother Charles E. Smith this week took over ownership of the Menth auto supply company from J.F. Menth. The new name of the business is Smith Brothers motor supply.

Mr. Menth retains the building and will put in his time taking care of rental properties he and his wife own. Edmund Smith has resigned from his position as secretary and office manager of the Lassen lumber and box company, where he has been employed since January of 1931.  He will be succeeded there by Merlyn Mulroney who has been paymaster.

Charles Smith, employed as a machinist for Fruit Growers Supply Company, likewise has resigned.  He volunteered in the Seabees August 10, 1942 and saw varied service throughout the South Pacific and returned to this country last October.
