Video: Save the Music Concert at Janesville School

Monday, October 8th, 2012

Janesville School held their ‘Save the Music’ concert this evening at the school’s auditorium. Melissa Blosser was there and files these videos.

The performances featured Sonia Rao, a featured finalist on NBC’s The Voice and an advocate for musical arts in public education, Oklahoma country music songwriter Hope Nix and local fiddler Tallon Sandoval.

Janesville’s Parent-Teacher Organization has been working to raise funds to support an after school music program led by volunteer music teacher A.R. Danes.

Danes said that this concert is just the beginning of a series of concerts that the organization hopes to continue, with another concert planned for the spring at the Lassen County fairgrounds.

Hope Nix came all the way from Nashville for tonight’s fundraiser.
