This weekend is Labor Day weekend and although many of us travel, there is plenty to do right here locally.
The Marine Corps League Community Breakfast
September 1st, start the morning out right with a delicious breakfast at Memorial Hall. The Marine Corps League High Sierra Det. 1068 will be hosting a Community Breakfast, consisting of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes and a wide variety of beverages as a fundraiser for the Lassen Girls Volleyball Team. The breakfast starts at 7 am and ends at 11 am.
The Marine Corps League sponsors a breakfast for non profit organizations quarterly. A few of these organizations include The Senior Citizen Center, Human Society, Foster Care, and Blue Star Moms.
The breakfast costs $5 per person, and kids under the age of 5 get in free. Don McMullen, an active participant in the Community Breakfasts said ” It’s all you can eat breakfast. If you have everything on the menu you can gain a whole 5 pounds for your $5.”

Mariner’s Resort Luau
Located on the banks of North Eagle Lake, Mariners Resort is a beautiful and fun place to come and play. On September 1st they are holding a special event a “Pig Roast & Luau” starting at 1pm. Bring your friends and family to get a tropical vacation experience right at home!

With a live band performing, and a electrifying atmosphere the night will sure to be one for your memory books. The exciting night will end at 12 AM.
