A new challenge has come to Lassen County Fair, a challenge that will test not only the creativity of it’s contestants, but also their ability to endurance in a icy situation. The Frozen T-Shirt Contest is an event you won’t want to miss.
Contestants will be put into 4 different categories depending on age and organization. Prizes range from $25 to $500.
The object of this event is to put on your T-shirt first. Participants will have nothing to use but their own body to thaw out their shirt. No sharp objects, to liquids, and no assistant from the outside. If your up for watching an entertaining event, head on down to the Jensen Hall Stage at noon this Saturday.
During Fair week, who doesn’t look forward to a fluffy, deep fried, crisp funnel cake with powdered sugar on top? At 2p.m. July 21st by the stage at Jensen Hall 80 applicants will participate in a Funnel Cake Eating Contest that will, no doubt, be an occasion to remember.
Each Contestant will be given 5 minutes to eat 10 Funnel Cakes to eat as quickly as possible. The contestant who finishes first, or has the most cakes eaten at the end of the time will be declared the winner.
To make it fare, the contestants will be separated into 4 categories. Ages 5-10, 11-16, 17+, and Organization. Prizes range from $25 to $500.

The Lassen County Fair will be flashing Christmas Colors as participants get ready for the 2012 Watermelon Eating Contest. With No hands allowed, and a large watermelon involved, this contest is sure to be an entertaining and messy event. The contest will begin Saturday at 4p.m. at the stage by Jensen Hall
For this challenge, contestants will be separated into 4 different groups, ages 5-10, with 1/4 of a watermelon, will have the chance to win $25 and an all day carnival wristband, ages 11-16 with, 1/2 of a watermelon, will have the chance to win $50 and an all day carnival wristband, and ages 17+ ,with a full watermelon, will have the chance to win $100. The winner of the organization category will win $500.
