LMUD Seeking Comments on Automated Meter Project

The Lassen Municipal Utility District Board of Directors is considering a project to install automated meters and they are looking for input from their customers.

The automated meter integration project, or AMI, coupled with a two-way automated communications system, uses LMUD’s existing power lines to send information from your electric meter to the LMUD office.

LMUD Energy Services Manager Theresa Phillips explained that the system does not utilize radio frequencies, so none of the issues associated with so called ‘Smart Meters’ are found with the proposed AMI system.
