The 6th Annual Spring Home, Garden, and Outdoor Recreation Show is planned for Saturday, April 28th, from 10am to 4pm, at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
Over 50 businesses are signed up to participate in this year’s event with a great variety of products and services for your home, garden, and outdoor recreation that will be showcased at the show.
Food and drinks will be available all day and admission is free. Stop by each booth to sign up for giveaways, discounts, and to see what vendors have to offer. For more information contact the Chamber at 257-4323.
HUSA has teamed up with the Lassen Association of Realtors to host a “Meet the Candidates running for the City of Susanville City Council”, on Tuesday, May 1, 2014, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. The event will be held at the Monticola Club House located at 140 South Lassen Street, Susanville.
Sierra Radio Net will host three Primary Election Town Hall Forums that will be broadcast live on 1240AM KSUE and 93.3FM JDX beginning at 7pm from Middleton Hall, Lassen Community College. The dates for each 90 minute forum and the candidates featured are as follows; Thursday, May 3rd, Lassen County Superior Court Judge Candidates, Thursday, May 10, Lassen County Supervisor Candidates, and Thursday, May 17, District One, California Assembly Candidates. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend to ask questions of the candidates. For more information contact Ruth at 257-2121.
Soroptimist International of Susanville will host “Margarita Fest” on Friday, May 4th, 2012, from 5:30pm – 8:30pm, at Monsignor Moran Hall. This event will feature live Mariachi music performed by the Susanville Symphony led by Ben Wade, raffle prizes, and ten specialty margarita tables.
Limited pre-sale tickets are available, $10.00 per person, at U.S. Bank (Uptown Branch), Ace Hardware, or by calling Annette Silveria at 251-6324. Each ticket entitles you to one classic margarita, sangria, or beer and one trip to the fiesta nacho bar. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
The Chamber will be running the 2012 Fair’s beer concession. This will be a major fundraising event for the Chamber and the amount of volunteer hours it will take to successfully man the beer gardens is huge. The concession is open 11am to 10pm daily.
The Chamber is reaching out to the community and the chamber membership, whether you can volunteer for a few hours, a day or various times throughout the week, we need your help. If you are willing to volunteer contact the Chamber office, 257-4323 or sign-up to volunteer at any Chamber mixer. The dates for the 2012 Fair is July 18th thru the 22nd.
