Business Grows While Boosting
R.E. Bangham Believes in Lassen County
June 30th, 1913
The stores and shops of Susanville particularly are a source of surprise to the newcomer, for they are far above in size and stock the stores one expects to find in a town of its population.
They are housed in handsome buildings and with few exceptions are managed in a manner equal to the big city stores.
One of these new stone buildings is the Pardee building, and the entire ground floor is given over to the furniture business of R.E. Bangham. This business was established by Mr. Bangham about five years ago and during that brief time has rapidly grown in popularity with the citizens of Lassen.
An ample stock is carried and a large business is also done in the repair department.
Mr. Bangham has lived in Susanville all of his life; he knows the needs of the people and he provides for them in his line. Before going into the furniture business he engaged in the creamery business.
That he has the confidence and respect of his fellow townspeople is evidenced by the fact that he was elected town clerk and has filled the situation with credit to himself and his constituents.
He is thoroughly imbued with the great possibilities of his home county and never allows an opportunity pass to impress those he meets with advantages to be gained by being a resident of Lassen.
